iSTIK WINS ‘2008 INVENTION OF THE YEAR’ FROM SAN DIEGO INVENTORS FORUM

Innovative, magnetic iPod accessory places first among San Diego’s inventions

(San Diego, CA – September 17, 2008) – iStik, Inc., creator of the ultimate iPod accessory – iStik (www.goistik.com), has been awarded first place from San Diego Inventors Forum (SDIF), winning the title of “2008 Invention of the Year.” SDIF President Adrian Pelkus presented Alissa Huber, Owner and CEO of iStik, Inc., with a check for $1,000 following individual presentations by the competitors, and a vote by the SDIF group, which was held last Thursday at Sheppard Mullin’s office in Del Mar.

"It is such an honor to have iStik awarded as the best invention of the year. As any entrepreneur does, we’ve put countless hours and funds into developing this product. It is very rewarding and reinforcing to see others so excited about our idea,” said Alissa Huber, Owner and CEO of iStik, Inc. “The competition was tough; we feel privileged to take home the win."

Other inventions considered, included: Gary Abramov, Non Contact Tonometer/Intra-ocular pressure measuring device for glaucoma; Greg Lauren, Invention AcceleratorTM Guide & Organizer; Sharon Hamolsky, Boomerang System for Cell Phones (remote finder); Peter Kreklow, LED motion picture light; Nancy Mirr, Ear protection device; Fredrick Prior, Artist tools; and Dan Wolfson, Brew Buggy.

iStik recently expanded its product offerings to include the 3rd generation iPod Nano. The iStik magnetic fastening case is the ideal way of allowing its wearer to listen to music easily and accessibly wherever they want. Simply insert the iPod Nano (2nd or 3rd generation) in the iStik plastic holder and attach it to virtually any part of an outfit. A 3-piece case made of Lexan “bullet proof” plastic, the iStik protects the entire Nano, even the screen while “keeping up” with any activity using eight high-tech Neodymium magnets. Best used when placed on one layer of clothing, the magnets will not erase music, movies or more from the users iPod.

iStik cases currently retail for $24.95 for the 2nd generation iPod Nano and $26.95 for the 3rd generation iPod Nano, and will soon be transforming the way the iPhone and Touch are worn. All iStik products can be purchased online at www.goistik.com and will be available in retail stores nationwide toward the end of this year.
